HAP Dessert & Toast, Lebuh Nanning

Looking for a place to chill after lunch? And extra room in your stomach for dessert? I always have room for desserts. My stomach accommodates them well. Oh, Penang can be hot, so you may want to cool down with some shaved ice. Me and my family decided to try this place as we were looking for a place to have a cuppa and chit chat as we were nearby the area for lunch. We decided to enter after staring at their array of choices on the menu posted on their glass door.

Shibuya Honey Toast (RM16)

Since their main selling items are Kakigori and Shibuya Toasts, we ordered one of each. Nowadays when it comes to food with plenty of weird flavours to pick from, I will pick the most original taste offered as I think they are the safest. If you have friends whom are not the sweet-tooth kinda person, it's the safest choice if shared with them.

We ordered the Shibuya Honey Toast. It was a good choice. Some thick toast I've tried before tasted soggy and dense. This thick toast was fluffy, well-toasted, and goes well with the vanilla ice cream with fresh cream. The honey glaze on top adds moist, and gives flavour to the plain toast.

Matcha Kakigori (RM22)

Looks can be deceiving, and luckily this did not deceive me. This Matcha Kakigori too was a safe option (as my dad has high sugar, I do not want to choose anything that would add "extra sweetness" in his life.. oh, blood I mean). The most important thing for me when it comes to shaved ice is, the ice should not be rough. This one was smooth and the matcha flavour was strong enough. I would give this place a rating of 4 out of 5.
