Pokok KL Cafe, MAHSA Avenue

Fancy eating somewhere where you can have a fair amount of Vitamin D and at the same time cool down under an air-conditioned environment? This place inside MAHSA Avenue offers this sweet combo. They also offer outdoor seatings. So you can opt to be seated outside the pretty glass house under shady trees (especially during these recent pandemic where social distancing and strict SOP compliances is inevitable) for better air ventilation too.

Nowadays, if you choose to dine in a much talked about place where its 'IG-friendly' or made popular through social media, be prepared to queue for at least 30-40mins especially when the interior of 'Pokok' is not that big.

While waiting (we left our contact number with them), you can also check out the 2nd floor of this place. Artisan Markets and small eateries are hosted on this floor with shops selling handmade soaps, soy-waxed candle, essential oils; fresh and dried flowers, potted plants; handmade bags, beauty accessories and clothings; to small cafes like Daun and Three Guys (bubble tea shop). You can easily kill time there while waiting to be called.

This was not where we were seated but I found it as a nice photography spot

The menu is quite extensive here. We had to browse them from the QR code given on our phone which is quite troublesome. From the menu, we ordered a big breakfast, the Avo Maveric (Avocado toasts with poached eggs, mushrooms and salad greens), Sautéed Mushroom Croissant with Scrambled Eggs, Mango & Passionfruit Pavlova and 3 cups of Pokok coffee (Latte, Flat White & Cappuccino).

Overall, the food was delicious except for that scrambled egg stuffed inside the croissant. The egg tasted a little blend. It would be better if it has a tinge of pepper or salt to give it some taste. The pavlova comes with cubes of fresh mangoes and passionfruit on top which is not too sweet for a meringue-based cake. I loved it.

Big Breakfast (RM35)

Avo Maveric, RM18

Sauteed Mushroom Croissant with Scrambled Eggs, RM20

Pokok Coffee (Latte, Flat White and Cappuccino), RM10 each

Mango & Passionfruit Pavlova, RM15

My friends seemed satisfied with their food

Overall, I quite like this place thanks to the green ambience surrounding it which is quite cosy. Although the prices of the food here are slightly on the higher side, but for the portion that comes with it, I think it's not too bad.
